Family Nights

So here I sit, at my parents' house. I'm here for Sunday dinner, and I always love it. Tonight I'm staying the night and mom is taking me to work tomorrow. I'm hopefully getting my insurance figured out tomorrow, in order to get my truck :D.

I got my tongue pierced last night. OUCH. I actually like it, it fits me more than getting my nose or lip pierced would. Last night I called Allan and couldn't talk. He put on a lisp and said "well here, I'll talk like this so you don't feel bad. :D" and I was like "FINE! JERK!" haha. Good times.

Life Lesson: It hurts to have metal jabbed in your mouth. And I love my parents.

monday, november 9

So much has been going on, it's been hard to find the motivation to convey it all. So I'll give it in a very economical, easy way. I'll put what has happened in relation to what I've learned. :D

1. I've learned that I must always turn off the oven.
2. I've learned that going to my parents' house is a retreat where I can unwind and center myself.
3. I've learned that my best friend is going to stay my best friend, through our little bickering fights.
4. I've learned that cookies will burn if you play a game of chess while they are baking.
5. I've learned that some of the important things in life are right in front of you. Things that make you happy. Such as planning road trips, spending quality time with the one person in the world who really understands you, making keys at 1 AM and eating good cookies, keeping traditions, playing chess by candle light, having the friends who care enough to help with anything, and having the parents who support enough to help with the rest.

I've been learning. :D

Allan and I are going to Williams today. We will be there until Thursday afternoon. It will be an amazing week.

October 19

Again it's not a Sunday. But I don't have internet except at work.

So wow since I blogged last, allan and I broke up and fought. and I didn't talk to him, I told him I hate him. Now we're semi-talking, but I'm tired of being walked on so I'm not going to get into this.

I got an apartment with Marie, it's awesome!!!!

My parents are jerks. end of story.

And I love my family. :)

August 23

There is a reason I didn't post yesterday. I was tired. And I was an emotional wreck. I made a decision that apparently disgusts my parents. whatev. I semi fixed it for them to make them happy. I can't wait till november! and today was fun btw. I'm also excited to hang with allan tomorrow.

August 16

Hey y'all. sorry I didn't blog last Sunday. I was busy! Haha. Well tons has happened in the past couple weeks. I've gotten a boyfriend, a broken down car, and lots of shock from my parents' reactions at both. It's amazing...prayers ARE answered. Haha.

So school starts next week. Am I ready? NO. UNR is being really difficult to work with. I can't get a hold of my advisor to talk to her about a discrepancy with my AP credits. Oh well, it will all work out.

And I watched a movie today that reminds me of Allan and I. It's hilarious how similar it is. The Notebook. Except I'm not old and he's not old, and we're not married. And we don't have kids, or grand kids, and did I say that we're not old? Haha. Anyways, I am mailing him cookies on Monday because he says he's deprived of my delicious baked goods. Fatty. haha just kidding.

I'll blog later!! Things are going great. =]

August 2

well I was supposed to put this up yesterday. but I didn't. oh well. at least it's getting done.

So many things can change in a heartbeat. that's all I will say about "that."

It's so weird what people can do. What people can commit to, then fail at. What people can do to each other, and still forgive. It's amazing. Are humans unusually forgetful? Or is it compassion? I think it's a mixture of both. When one is hurt, the pain always fades after a while, no matter how much it is denied. It doesn't hurt AS MUCH. It still hurts, of course. But the original searing, blinding pain is dulled by time and thinking. When an apology is given, the hurt one thinks "well, you hurt me. But it doesn't hurt so bad." and they forgive, because they've forgotten the original pain. They don't remember how bad it hurt until they see glimpses of it in the person again. Then they are reminded and they step back, guarding themselves against the pain. This is especially true when the pain is so bad that it hurts to just think about sometimes. The only true pain is dulled by time. All other pain is internal, and a product of one's own devices.

Pain is a necessary part of life. If there was no pain, no hurt, there would be no joy or happiness. Without one, there cannot be the other. Yin and Yang.

Que Sera, Sera.

Peace,
Nome

Bikes, Hospitals, and Sore Fingers.

This week was not really interesting. I finished the first of 2 paintings for Marie, go me! I cleaned my room, and did laundry. I helped clean the house as well, and got a new book. It's about the aftermath of World War I. I saw Harry Potter with the family and got my fingers slammed in the door of the truck, and they are currently swollen but doing a lot better. I gave a talk in Sacrament Meeting, I went to a candle party, I got a really cool new song, and I didn't sleep very well. That's last week in a nutshell.

I really don't want to go camping with my family for 10 days, but I know if I don't go, I won't do anything exciting anyways. So not this Thursday, but next Thursday, I'm leaving with the fambam for lake Powell in Southern Utah.

I really want to start running again, because I haven't been in a while. But I lack motivation. Maybe when school starts?
And oh yeah, I need to go school shopping with my Staples gift card.
I need....
Notebooks (2 or 3 subject, Qty. 5)
Filler paper (preferrably by the truckload)
Pens and Pencils (mechanical pencils, because the shavings drive me insane. And stick pens. because clicky pens distract me.)
Day planner (so I can pretend to be organized)
2$ paper calendar from wally world (because everyone needs one)

I probably need more. But oh well.

Peace,
Nome
